From the ground, the rescue party watched as Jimmy deployed the emergency boosters and was launched twenty feet above the plane, before dropping two feet when the parachute shot open from his backpack and he started to slow descend. Sheen pressed an assortment of buttons at Libby's instructions once the down plane was in discernible distance from the control building, with Cindy pushing the lever that raised the landing pad on a platform. It was a few minutes before Jimmy's feet touched the landing, his parachute pooling behind him on the lift. He quickly snapped the buckles off his backpack, and unattached himself from the bulk of the parachute's weight as it dragged down the backpack with a smacking sound below. At the steps leading down from the platform Jimmy met the rescue party.
"Holy Heisenberg!" He exclaimed, moving his feet. "That was amazing. You successfully got past the security codes." Jimmy's face was a rush of excitement being the after effect of such a life-threatening exposure a while ago. "But...how?"
"You have to ask?" It was Cindy who jumped down form the control panels and pushed her way through the crowd to the step up to the landing. She smiled confidently, hands on her hips, arms akimbo, and said, "When the man you love has a habit of careening violently through air and space at nine-hundred miles per hour, you learn to pack some emergency deployment bags in the glove box."
Jimmy grinned, cheeks reddening at the mention of the most amorous emotion. "Good thing I have such a smart girlfriend, or I'd be buttered toast by now!"
Cindy's smile turned wry, and she arched a brow. "Gee, 'ya think?"
