AU Background: Cindy comes from several years in the future where she's become Jimmy's steady girlfriend and lab partner in their adventures in science and (often Magic) the unexplained in their little town of Retroville in Texas. Their exploits are explained more in the personality section of the application, but basically the "gang" finds themselves adapting their crazy lifestyle of scientific mischief to puberty and grade point averages, as well as becoming adults in their jobs and volunteer projects.
This AU also gives more depth to her home life. Such as her parents.
Cindy's parents are very straight-laced and to the point. They don't waste time with frivolities or decorations, instead pushing their opinions and actions to the forefront. Cindy grew up with a very set-in-stone childhood. Sasha had once been a broadway performer before becoming a lawyer, with her husband being a kenpo karate instructor (he taught Cindy martial arts since young age). Cindy's parents want her to succeed in whatever activity or skill Cindy endeavors, putting the idea of failure or even second best as an unavailable option. Cindy has never once called her parents out on their behavior, rather, she tries to succeed past her parents' expectations, and after years of ingrained habit, she's come to see their disappointment as the sharpest blow to her being. This has lead Cindy to brief depressed states that last up to a few days spanning a week or more. While her father is the more lenient between he and his wife, and would give Cindy time to relax and recuperate, his wife is more persistent in Cindy's future.
Sasha Vortex may seem bossy and overbearing, but she means well. She wants her daughter to have no regrets when Cindy becomes an adult and goes out on her own. Oh, she's well aware that mistakes will happen, but Sasha only wants the best for her daughter, and she firmly believes that as a mother, it's her job to give Cindy the pushes required to succeed. When Cindy started dating Jimmy, Sasha was almost against the idea, until she saw how happy Jimmy made Cindy. She capitulated, on the grounds that Cindy keep her grades in Academic Excellence territory, and that Cindy be home before ten on school nights.
The AU also gives a set location of Retroville, Cindy's hometown. It resides in Texas, near Austin, right by a desert. There is an army base in the distance with a large facility made to contradict the strange phenomenon occurring due to Jimmy Neutron's actions.
I've left several characters briefly glibbed (with some minor quotations made and classic personality traits represented) so that should anyone wish to join this AU, they can make up their own history ideas for the characters, such as Libby Folfax, Sheen Estevez and Carl Wheezer.
Personality: Cindy Vortex is your un-typical, A+ student with a knack for piano, martial arts, playwriting, and river stomping. She's the manager of Retroville High's wrestling team, and the co-founder of the Advanced Chemistry club on odd school nights. She is leading in her Financial Preservation class and apple of her teacher's eye in her Advanced Placement Literary Analysis hour. From appearance, Cindy looks to be your cliche small-town girl next door. How far from the truth. Cindy may be your perfect student of academia, but off the books, she's a temperamental, surly-mouthed, karate-chopping, alien-fighting, parent-rescuing, plasmapen-wielding teenage girl with a boyfriend who made such an adventurous and chaotic life possible! Cindy is used to having to drop everything at the current moment, place and time to rush off to the next chaotic event occurring in her not-so-quiet town of Retroville. In many cases, she's even given leniency seen as odd by other states regarding her clocked school hours and juvenile records.
A devoted girlfriend to her beau since tender elementary age, Jimmy Neutron, Cindy often puts aside her dreams of academic excellence to be at her boyfriend's side when the automatic turbo screwdriver hits the fan and transforms into a megalomaniacal robot bent on enslaving mankind. She's been turned into a super-hero, chased by mechanical scorpions, hazed by dorky nanonbots bent on keeping Jimmy's hair trim and so much more--Jimmy once declared that Cindy should receive Girlfriend of the Year for all the work Cindy puts into keeping Retroville (and Jimmy by default) relatively safe. To that note, Retroville's mayor has given Cindy countless ribbons and medals over the year dedicated to her preserving the town's tourism revenue, military sanctity, and constant sugar supply vigilance (by record of Sam's Candy Bar). She's come head to head with her boyfriend over falling space rocks and outwitted even the town's local rich prat through chess and nanoscopic germ warfare all before dinner's set on the table.
Cindy excels in all forms of academics, as this is her number one pride since toddler age, and as proven to be often overzealous in her schedules. Though her studying skills are superb, and her paper preparations are the best marked, Cindy often goes over the line of requirements and exhausts her own energy supplies. She puts all her efforts into bettering herself and her skill sets for the future to make her a more "worldly and cultured" person to traverse the world. Often enough, she misses the little, simple things in her surroundings and misses out on appreciating things for what they are, not what they could be worth. True, she is not as frantic as she once was at age eleven, but she still strays from the sane path when a large prize is offered on a diamond-encrusted, golden platter. Her best friend, Libby Folfax, often describes Cindy as "kinda flighty" until Cindy comprehends the big picture and the consequences towards her predicted actions.
Temper is an issue for Cindy. Since young age, she's had problems with controlling her rage and overtly volatile emotions. She had to endeavor in anger-management with nightly kickboxing, lest she unleash her rage during daytime (Cindy used to punch blindly whichever way she felt as a preteen, but after becoming a teenager, and stronger non-violence laws in Middle School, Cindy was forced to release pent-up frustration and ill contempt through meditation and punching the Gym's punching bag straight off its metal connected gears). Jimmy even keeps a kickboxing dummy in his lab for when Cindy's emotions become volatile during one of her many visits. This wise move has detracted thirty-five percent of collateral damage monthly to the lab, to Jimmy's relief and amazement.
Because of her headstrong qualities, Cindy is very decisive and forthcoming. When she wants something, she wants it, and nobody will stand in her way if the prize is so great--however, if the prize means at the risk of those she cares, her indecisiveness will emerge with her code of morals, and she will capitulate. Despite her romantic attachment and obvious relationship status with Jimmy, Cindy still works her way around his inflexible morals to push things towards her interests (i.e. kissing the ever-living daylights out of him in order to distract him while she steals his jetpack to rocket to a local concert she'd been barred against attending). Cindy rarely has intentions of true malicious evil, only the idea of having a good time--as she believes is her right as a teenage girl and high school student. Countless times, she's even stalled Jimmy's world-revolutionizing projects so that they can spend more time together. While outside people can obviously see these habits as selfish, Cindy sees them as harmless, an issue that sometimes takes the focal point of many mishaps with Jimmy's experiments.
Abilities: The Second Smartest person in Retroville, Cindy IQ is an easy ramp up near Einstein's, though only in the seventy-fifth percentile. She's definitely brilliant, though (and she will now admit to it) not as brilliant as her boyfriend. She's adept in English, Literature, Mathematics, and History, with a burgeoning knack for science. She's always been able to keep in a mixed tie with Jimmy in academics, though the weight and meaning of the received scores are more important in Cindy's sentiments. For example, she knows that while she and Jimmy both excel with high A+ grades in academics, the brilliance behind Jimmy's A+ and her A+ vary greatly.
Brilliance aside, Cindy has a knack for superb oratory skills, and knows how to present speeches and literature with great gusto and emphasis. She's been a favorite storyteller of Sheen's little sister for good reason. She knows how to make her arguments deftly persuasive, and is often the key note speaker for school assemblies and town informer whenever experiment-caused chaos brings havoc upon her town. It is thanks to Cindy that Jimmy has avoided long jail sentences, court mandates, and simple class rules that she often initially issued herself. She always repents on truly emotionally-tied reasonings, though her stubborn quality sometimes prevents her from truly voicing her entire emotions.
Cindy is also athletically talented. She excels in various martial arts, such as kenpo, Kyokushinkai, karate, and Brazilian jujitsu, with several mastery statuses. She is very flexible limb-wise, and can stretch and bend to amazing degrees thanks to advanced exercise since early age and constant work out repetitions. She concentrates on a maintained center of gravity within her balance, and forces strength and energy into strikes and kicks. The Yolkians have Cindy's name labeled beneath Jimmy's as Second Most Feared Earthling. During the her last encounter with the Yolkians, Cindy stole one of her WANTED posters, and has since pinned and framed it, hanging on the wall in her room.
Sample Entry: I have several prose written that should cover the extent of her personality, but if not, I humbly...hell with it. I'll do whatever you tell me, boss!
